SFMTA Decal Manual
A confident and unified visual identity, consistent with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) values, communicates a strong and organized Agency core to Muni customers. It is important that the SFMTA communicate a coordinated identity and comprehensible system in all aspects of operations.
Decals on Muni vehicles are one method of how Muni and the SFMTA express their identities. In this, it is important for the decal tone and message to portray an efficient, cohesive, and attractive system.
This document improves the visual identity on vehicles by reducing the amount of decals and reducing verbiage on decals. It standardizes graphics, colors, decal size and typography, all to strengthen Muni system legibility and readability for all passengers.
